Why Our Radiofrequency Facial is a Must For Younger-Looking Skin

Why Our Radiofrequency Facial is a Must For Younger-Looking Skin

Whether you’re new to facials or have been getting them for years, you want to make sure you’re getting the most out of your time with your esthetician. Our clients are no different, and that’s why more and more are choosing to set aside an additional 20 minutes for our skin-tightening, radiance-boosting RedSculpt Radiotightening treatment, or rather, our version of a radiofrequency facial that adds the benefit of red LED light therapy.

What is RedSculpt Radiotightening?

Radio for short, our RedSculpt Radiotightening treatment combines red LED light therapy and radiofrequency technology to realign and stimulate collagen in the deeper layers of your skin. It works by virtue of a handheld wand that gently glides across your face. It feels like a warm stone massage, and there’s zero downtime. The 20-minute treatment is available as an add-on to any facial or on its own as an express facial. It's perfect for any clients concerned with visible signs of aging, especially loss of elasticity.

How do radiofrequency (RF) treatments work?

Your skin consists of three separate layers: the epidermis (the outermost layer), the dermis, and the hypodermis, which is made of fat and connected tissue. Radiofrequency energy reaches deep into the dermis without damaging the top layer of your skin. This may sound a little intense, but it's very safe—radiofrequency waves are a billion times slower than an x-ray! Radiofrequency waves gently heat your skin to stimulate collagen production at the source. This results in an instant face lift, and because it reaches deep into the skin, it is especially good at targeting loose, saggy skin. Even better, a 2008 study showed that exposure to radiofrequency increases collagen and elastin production for up to two months after treatment, resulting in thicker skin and a youthful radiance.

Why do you combine it with red light therapy?

Combined, radiofrequency waves and red LED light target two layers of your skin: the dermis and epidermis. Red LED light handles the outermost layer of your skin, the epidermis, by kick-starting internal processes. It does this by prompting a biochemical reaction in the body that signals an increase in cellular energy, or ATP (adenosine triphosphate). It also stimulates the functioning of fibroblasts, which are responsible for collagen production. With an abundance of energy, your cells are able to repair damage at a much quicker rate. And since collagen makes up more than half of the protein found in our skin, having more of it means an improvement in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, skin tone, and less inflammation over time.

Is it OK to add RedSculpt Radiotightening to any facial?

Yes! We especially recommend it for clients who are receiving the Resculpting or the Red Carpet Facial for its extra anti-aging benefits. There are two signature components of our Red Carpet Facial that make the RedSculpt Radiotightening treatment such a perfect complement: Beyond Microcurrent® technology and amber LED light therapy. Our proprietary microcurrent helps to tone and train your face on a muscular level, and since your facial muscles are directly attached to your skin, just one session visibly lifts and tightens your face. It also encourages lymphatic drainage for reduced redness and puffiness. Another benefit is that amber LED light helps to promote cellular growth, encouraging new, healthy skin.

To put this into perspective, when you add the RedSculpt Radiotightening treatment to your Red Carpet Facial, all three layers of your skin are isolated and treated. First, your facial muscles (located in the subcutaneous fat layer of your skin) are given a kick-ass workout from our Beyond Microcurrent® technology. Second, the radiofrequency waves from our RedSculpt Radiotightening treatment help trigger collagen production beneath the surface. And third, red and amber LED light join forces to cover your epidermis, speeding up your skin’s healing processes and supporting cellular regeneration for improved skin tone, diminished fine lines, and a youthful glow.

How often should I receive the RedSculpt Radiotightening treatment?

For the most dramatic results, we recommend at least four consecutive sessions, two to three weeks apart, but even just one session will leave you with visible effects. Alternatively, we recommend adding on the RedSculpt Radiotightening every time you come in for your monthly facial. As with all our technology, results are cumulative and regular appointments will help you maintain healthy, youthful skin over time.
